Mr Fischer, the former deputy prime minister, and also fondly known as "the man from Boree Creek" was a regular face at the field days over the years.
Ms Brewer was speaking during an unveiling of a plaque at the site to remember the life and contribution of Mr Fischer.
She joked with the crowds that Mr Fischer knew to head to what is known as "the stump" or the middle of the site to talk to people. She also said that he knew where all of the food stalls were and that he didn't need a map to find his way around.
Henty was also the place to acknowledge the work and innovation of a Coolamon business which exhibited the 2019 Henty Machine of the Year. Despite the dry times in southern NSW patrons walked around the site, encompassing some 14 kilometres of shop front, with a spring in their step.
Regular exhibitor, Ross Harmer of West Wyalong Movies attracted interest in releasing his latest documentary titled Bag to Bulk. And vintage machinery exhibits, in working order, proved to be a popular draw-card with visitors.
Rural author, Rachael Treasure of Tasmania was at the Fox and Lillie Wool Brokers site to talk about her new book titled White Horses.
