The Englishman, who also played a number of games for Wagga City Wanderers in the National Premier League ACT, scored the sole goal in Hanwood's 1-0 major semi win over Lake Albert to qualify for this Sunday's grand final.

It continue a rich vein of scoring form after he had struggled to find the back of the net for a few games as the Griffith side battled through a slump of their own.

"It's coming for him, you can see he's ready to break a game open," Agresta said after the major semi.

"Hopefully he's saving it for the big one."

Kennedy said he was always confident perseverance would prevail and the goals would eventually flow.

"When I'm not scoring goals and going through a bit of a drought, I've got to keep going because I know it will eventually come," he said.

"Luckily enough the last few games I've managed to score a few.

"I probably should have scored a couple more (in the major semi) which I read wrong, but we got the win in the end.

"You always need a bit of luck, I saw him (Sharks keeper Hayden Callander) slip (coming out to get the ball)."

Kennedy said holding onto their one-goal lead after Michael Musitano was sent off with 35 minutes left was the ideal preparation before what is likely to be one of the more fiery Pascoe Cup grand finals in recent history.

"We just showed some character," he said.

Hanwood will have played just one game in a month by the time Sunday afternoon rolls around, but Kennedy doesn't view their lack of recent match time as a major concern.
