Manton was the star up forward as Tigers totally outclassed Coolamon for the third time this season, running out 15.8 (98) to 7.8 (50) preliminary final winners at Robertson Oval on Sunday.

Manton was simply on fire early and had seven goals by the seven minute mark of the second quarter as he was on the end of some brilliant ball movement from Tigers.

Tigers had nine goals on the board, and Manton seven, before Coolamon was able to register their first nine minutes into the second quarter.

The damage was done, but Tigers did not stop there and never let the Hoppers build any momentum or get within 40 points of them.

The win continues a remarkable rise to the grand final for Tigers, who finished eighth last year and won just two games. Coolamon, meantime, exit finals in straight sets.

Wagga Tigers coach Troy Maiden was rapt to be through and playing off for the premiership.

"It's good. It's obviously exciting," Maiden said.

"Once you give yourself a chance to play in finals, I guess that's your goal, to get there and give yourself an opportunity and that's all we've done at the moment but we're looking forward to it."

Tigers were fantastic across the ground but their ability to turn defence into attack from half-back was one of the highlights.

Maiden loved the pressure his team applied to Coolamon.

"Obviously we had a couple of guys off a bit sore so one of the really good things for me was 20 minutes into the last quarter and we're still tackling hard, defending and I thought that part of our game was really good," he said.

"I really thought the pressure we brought, particularly early, was fantastic and set up the win for us.

"I just wanted the boys to go and play with confidence and they did today. They took the game on and I thought they were good."

Manton capped off a big week, after winning the Jim Quinn Medal on Tuesday night, with nine goals and a best-on-ground effort.

He played sore from early in the second quarter onwards and finished the game on the bench.

Dylan Morton was brilliant in defence, controlling the game from across half-back, even more so when his opponent Jeremiah Maslin was sent into defence to play loose in the second term.

Reid Gordon, Jacob Osbeiston and Shaun Driscoll also shone in Tigers' big win.
