The Tigers are on a six-game winning streak heading into the clash with Young, the last time to beat them.

They've come through two tight finals, with a big win in between, and coach Luke Berkrey is confident they can rise to the challenge against the Cherrypickers.

"What every team wants going into a grand final is confidence and they've been playing well," Berkrey said.

"We just need one more good game."

The sides have faced off four times this season.

Young holds a 3-1 advantage, but the Tigers were big winners at Anzac Park in the middle of the season.

Berkrey believes they are now a much improved outfit.

"We've had a roller coaster year and there were games in the middle of the year where we nearly had to forfeit, had nine players against Young," he said. "Injuries within first grade had taken players away from us, but we built a good foundation throughout the year and now that we've got all our players back they are playing well.

"There is a real sense of timing for us."

Both sides take in plenty of first grade experience into the decider.

However Berkrey, who is Gundagai's first grade captain, believes the chance to play alongside some of the competition's best has been a great launching pad for the next generation of Tigers.

He's looking for plenty of consistency from the side to down the defending premiers.

"We certainly have some dark days so we just have to turn up and be consistent," Berkrey said. "We seem to have hit a bit of a purple patch so hopefully we can keep it going."
