"This year our industry has again produced magnificent quality and exceptional levels of construction," MBA president Martin Patience said.
"The industry should be very proud of its achievements."
The MBA has more than 8000 members in NSW and a combined national membership of about 33,000 with nine offices throughout regional NSW.
This celebration showcases the built environment and its contribution to the social fabric of the community
- Martin Patience
The association, combined with Newcastle MBA directly employs nearly 500 apprentices in NSW through the group training schemes, and the training education department provides training services to nearly every sector of the industry.
It's this training and aim of attracting more people to the industry which has become a focus for the MBA in recent years.
"It is critical that we as builders encourage our contractors and tradespeople to embrace the engagement of apprentices and we push to make our industry the first-choice career move, and enhance the concept that a trade skill is a most worthwhile profession," Mr Patience said.
"The MBA is committed to a number of unique building industry focused pilot programs.
"It is now in its second year of a program in partnership with the NSW Government's Department of Education and four universities, to establish a pathway from trade apprenticeship to a bachelor degree."
The pilot program includes a pre-apprenticeship program, trade apprenticeship, diploma of project management and bachelor degree in construction or project management.
The MBA is also involved with the Apprenticeship Engagement Forum in the development of a "Mathematics in Trades" pathway.
"The program is designed to give a better understanding of mathematics and its application in building and construction at schools," Mr Patience said.
"This course is being trialed in a number of NSW high schools for years 10, 11 and 12 during 2019."
