The unanimous vote at Monday's meeting will mean the negotiations, costs and documentation leading up to, and post, the sale of the hangar will be made public.
The council will receive a further report, looking to re-establish the Douglas Aerospace Review Committee to oversee the process.
Cr Paul Funnell said it was an important step to finally put the matter "to bed" before the council starts negotiations about the Wagga Airport's future.
In other news:
"What this will do is finalise the issue through transparency," he said. "No one can say there's a cloud hanging over us or ask what happened because we've beaten them to the jump."
The sale of the hangar was tainted by the council's earlier dealings with Douglas Aerospace, which nearly left the city with a $2.1 million debt after loaning money to the company that fell into voluntary administration.
