The chance to play together is what drew older brother Steven to Southcity in the first place and now over two years later they will line up in a Group Nine grand final.

Both can't wait to take on Tumut at Equex Centre on Sunday.

"The reason I come over from rugby union was to play football with him," Steven Tracey said.

"It's taken this long to play with each other and now we're in a grand final, on the big stage, and it should be a good experience."

With a five-year age gap the pair hadn't really played together before this season and still find themselves on opposite sides of the field.

They've enjoyed being able to share the experience in the second half of the season and have one big goal for the rest of the season.

"I'm hoping to win the big one - it would be special with Boxxy," Brody said.

"It would be a dream especially after not being able to crack the side at the start of the year.

"To be starting in a grandy is a pretty big thing and a pretty big achievement."

Brody broke into the side after a nasty injury to Usaia O'Sullivan midway through the season.

The 19-year-old, who was part of a reserve grade premiership last year, can't wait for the grand final experience.

"I'm keen, very nervous, but very, very excited," Brody said.

"It should be a cracker."

Coming into the side in the centres has been a learning curve who someone who has played most of his football in the forward pack.

However the young gun has enjoyed the opportunity.

"It's been challenging learning a whole new position and a different side of attack but the boys have built me well into it and I think I'm well adjusted," Brody said.

"They've prepared me as best I can to tackle the position."

The Traceys could be one of five sets of brothers in the grand final.

Injury concerns have Harry and Ben Lucas both under injury clouds for the Bulls while Dean and Lachlan Bristow, Adam and Jed Pearce and Tom and Ben Warner are expected to line up for Tumut.

Despite being 24, Steven has plenty of grand final experience.

He played in three at Waratahs before making the switch to Southcity for their 2017 premiership before losing last year to Gundagai.

He also played in a Group 20 decider with Tullibigeal Lakes United but believes this has been his best season to date.

Being named as one of the wingers in the Team of the Year adds to his confidence.

"It's been a good season and I feel like I've filled into rugby league a bit better now," he said.

"After the last three years I feel like is my best year so far and I'm just loving every bit of the club.

"It's a good club to be a part of."
