The premiers let a 14-point second half lead slip as they were knocked out by arch rivals Tumut in the preliminary final at Harris Park on Sunday.
The Blues scored the last three tries of the game to run out 28-26 victors.
Captain Luke Berkrey was disappointed how they let a 26-12 lead slip in the final 25 minutes.
"When you're up by 14 in a semi-final you should be icing it," Berkrey said.
"It is one that got away.
"With silly penalties and errors we let them back in and they are a real confidence team and once they get going they can be hard to stop.
"They got us."
Gundagai scored a 34-6 win at Anzac Park when the teams met to decide the minor premiership in the final round of the season.
However there was a lot more fight in the Blues this time around.
"It was a semi-final and both teams were up and ready to go," Berkrey said.
"Maybe we caught them on a bad day there but it is one that go away from us."
Injuries didn't help their cause with Cameron Woo not playing in the game while Blake Dunn only lasted seven minutes before injuring his calf.
However it wasn't all bad news for the Tigers with their Sullivan Cup and Weissel Cup sides taking victory to join their reserve grade, who booked their place last week.
They face Young in all three deciders at Equex Centre on Sunday.
