In a letter to parents on Friday, director of schools at the CEDWW Mark MacLean thanked the community for "voicing your views over the recent departure" of the principal.
"Like you, we are disappointed to have lost such a senior member of the school community with over 30 years' service," Mr MacLean wrote to parents.
"It is not a situation any school wants to find itself in."

It comes after students at the school staged protests by refusing to attend classes for up to an hour.
Some parents in the community have also vowed to avoid paying school fees until further answers are delivered on Mr Whelan's sudden disappearance from the school.
Mr MacLean has remained tight-lipped on the catalyst for resignation instead repeating in Friday's letter that it was tended "for personal reasons".
"There is speculation about Mr Whelan leaving, the fact is he resigned for personal reasons," Mr MacLean wrote to parents.
"You may not be aware that we are unable to provide details on the various circumstances that led us here for reasons that are in place to protect the privacy of both Mr Whelan and the school community."
Parents and staff at the college originally received correspondence regarding Mr Whelan's leave of absence beginning August 14.
The announcement was followed by a statement from Mr MacLean on August 30 revealing Mr Whelan had offered his resignation and would "no longer work at the college".

In the absence of firm reasons for Mr Whelan's departure, the CEDWW has confirmed that Christie Scoble will remain in the role of acting principal throughout the interim.
The letter was sent in further attempts to allay parents' worries, especially as the HSC commencement date nears in three weeks time.
"What we can tell you is that the best interests of students are always at the heart of everything we do at the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga," Mr MacLean said.
"While the immediate situation may not be ideal, we know Kildare Catholic College is in good hands with acting principal Ms Christie Scoble and her innovative, dedicated and talented team of teachers and support staff."
Mr MacLean has previously stated that students at the school have been offered counselling. Meanwhile staff have reportedly engaged support from the Independent Education Union.
