Last year's minor premiers tackle this year's top team, Coolamon, in the second semi-final at Narrandera Sportsground. Griggs says the Hoppers command plenty of respect.

"They're really good. Their top end is probably the best in the comp I'd say, with your (Jake) Barretts and (Joe and Luke) Redferns, and (Jeremiah) Maslin was pretty dangerous against us last time," Griggs said.

While Coolamon have won eight of their last nine, including beating Griffith at Kindra Park in late July, the Swans are coming off three impressive wins - against Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes, and then Wagga Tigers, twice.

"The club's in a very good spot. Besides one unavailable (Mick Duncan), we've basically got a whole team to pick from. Everyone's rearing to go," Griggs said.

"We're obviously playing our best footy at the right time of year and hopefully we can get the jump on Coolamon.

"Absolutely (the timing feels good). The old saying is you don't win premierships in June or August. You've got to be peaking at the right time and you've got to have a bit of luck with injuries and the draw and what not. So things have turned out to be alright so far anyway."

The Conlan brothers have dominated headlines in those back-to-back wins against Tigers as Jacob (seven goals in round 18) and then Lucas (six in the qualifying final) played starring roles a week apart.

"They're fantastic. It's good enough having one but when you can chuck two down there it's pretty impressive to watch," Griggs said.

"They've got a great rapport on the field. It's like they're kicking the ball to each other in the back yard half the time. We try to give them as much space as we can and let them do their thing.

"We didn't have Lucas for a lot of the year due to (Greater Western Sydney) Giants commitments so having him back for the last few weeks has really added an extra string to our bow."

As for Jacob, well he's kicked 62 goals in 17 games. And who could forget his role in last year's grand final when he almost lifted Griffith over the line.

"He's a big boy and he's got long arms too so when he's running and jumping at the ball he's hard to stop. He's been doing a lot of work in the gym so he's bigger and stronger now and you don't really want to be in front of him backing into a pack because he'll be crashing it," Griggs said.

Sam Daniel's return up forward is also valuable. He kicked three goals in win against MCUE.

"He's got a very mature head. He runs our young forward line, direction-wise, and he's been able to hit the scoreboard a few times. He's got a lot of finals experience as well which is an added bonus," Griggs said.

Griffith were unbeaten in the home-and-away season last year but lost the second semi-final and grand final to Collingullie-Glenfield Park.
