The existing Sturt Highway speed limit of 60 kilometres an hour at Gumly will be extended near Bakers Lane by 280 metres and 40 metres east of Pioneer Avenue for about 580 metres.
Reducing the speed limit plans to improve safety as traffic volumes increase from business and residential development.
In other news:
Meanwhile, the current speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour at Forest Hill will also be extended east on the Sturt Highway from 100 metres east of Cowells Road for about 530 metres. The change aims to provide a consistent speed for motorists, as well as safer conditions for caravan park patrons.
The Olympic Highway's 80 kilometre an hour speed zone will also be drawn-out near the Sturt Highway and Red Hill Road intersections.
There will be signs advising drivers of the changes, which will remain in place for two weeks from Monday.
