Little replaced Terry Westblade as coach this season and guided Brothers back to finals.
They were winless through the first five rounds but only lost two games from there, including a win over grand finalists Southcity in the final round of the season, before crashing out against Albury at Greenfield Park in the first week of the finals.
However board member Craig Stewart stressed the decision to seek expressions of interest in each of the five grades didn't mean Little wouldn't be back at the helm for a second season in 2020.
"We thought we would through it out there as the committee is going to change next and thought year and thought we should get organised and have expressions of interest to see if there is anyone out there to put their hand up," Stewart said.
"Pete can reapply for it, and we have been happy with him. We're just not waiting until after the AGM to sort it out."
Following their finals 38-16 loss to the Thunder Little admitted he hadn't decided on what lies ahead as both a player and a coach.
He could not be contacted by The Daily Advertiser on Monday.
Stewart also indicated the board structure introduced this season is likely to revert back to the traditional system headed up by a president.
