According to the Bureau of Meteorology, August had a mean temperature of 7.6 degrees, down on the long-term figure of 9.0 degrees and equal to the result from 1989.
Wagga's August average maximum is 14.5 degrees. but this year the figure was down slightly at 14.1.
Nights were chilly, with the average minimum of 1.1 degrees well down on the long-term result of 3.5.
August was also much drier than usual, with just 14.2 millimetres recorded during the month, well down on the long-term figure of 50.7mm.
Nigel Smedley from the bureau's Wagga office said the outlook for spring was likely to see Wagga recording warmer-than-average days and nights, with less than average rainfall expected.
