The 73-year-old died last week after treatment at the Albury-Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
Today the much-loved former deputy Prime Minister's coffin will make its way from The Rock railway station to Albury. It is expected to arrive at 9.30am.
Two hours later the doors of the Albury Entertainment Centre will open before the celebration of Mr Fischer's life begins at 1pm.

You are invited to attend the state funeral, but Lester and Son Funeral Directors suggest getting there early to be seated by 12.15pm.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison will be among the dignitaries which will be hosted by the ABC's Michael Rowland.
