It was close early at Alfred Oval, with things locked at 6-all after former 'Pickers coach James Woolford crossed, but Cootamundra failed to make it consecutive victories on Sunday.
Departing coach Roy Jewitt was pleased to finish up with the 64-6 win.
"It was really good," Jewitt said.
"We started a bit slow but once we kicked into gear we certainly piled the points on."
Kelepi Komaisavou scored a hat-trick in the win and was among Young's best while Sam Langford had another strong game.
The Cherrypickers scored four quick tries running into half-time to open up the contest.
Coming off their first win of the season, Jewitt thought Cootamundra just ran out of firepower.
"It was 6-all for a while and they were sticking it to us," he said.
"Credit to them, they put in a big performance as a lot of their players played reserve grade and then backed up.
"They just ran out of steam and we were able to get over the top of them."
