The 15-year-olds, who train at Barefoot Boxing gym in Wagga, are preparing for Boxing NSW's state novice titles in Sydney in September.
Both are heading to Campbelltown this weekend to continue their preparation, after enjoying wins at Mt Druitt two weeks ago.
In their first fights, Passlow and Cocking stopped opponents in the third round.
"It was fun," Cocking said. "I've had an exo (exhibition bout) before that but that was my first fight."
The Henty teenager, who weighs in at 62kg, has been working with trainer Tony Abbott since the start of the year, particularly on using his reach and range to full effect. There's no doubt he's been bitten by the boxing bug.
"I love it. It's just something I like doing," he said.
Passlow had an 'exo' fight at Barefoot's big fight night in Wagga earlier this year.
He's worked hard to drop weight and learn everything he can, and was rewarded with victory in his first competitive bout.
"He was a very straight-forward fighter, only came straight on and pretty much didn't use any angles so I had to use my angles then," Passlow said.
He said stopping his opponent was a pleasant surprise and now he's itching for more success.
The 85-kilogram Passlow enjoys the individual nature of the sport, and that only one person can make a result happen inside the ropes.
The boxers have been putting in plenty of hours, and miles, including travelling to Sydney for sparring.
In a month, they'll know how they stack up against other rising stars from across the state.
