The Festival of Wot? launched just last month, promising one lucky destination a free festival dedicated to what they should be most famous for.

General Manager Richie Robinson, of Destination Riverina Murray, said the "odd and obscure" ideas make for the most memorable events, so do not knocked down out-of-the-box thinking.
"The key for creating and establishing iconic events is uniqueness and point of difference because tourists want to travel where they can't experience it anywhere else," he said.

"I definitely would encourage people to come forward with ideas for this competition, but if it isn't picked then come to us," Mr Robinson said.
"Wagga is recognisable and memorable and there are opportunities here."
