In a significant development, CSU have also reappointed A grade netball coach Kirsty Lowe for 2020 as the club looks for continuity and consistency.

Noonan last season oversaw CSU's return to finals after a seven-year spell in the wilderness. This year, they struggled early to recapture that form but with two rounds to play are still a shot at finishing fifth.

"I'm really enjoying coaching and I've also really enjoyed my time at the club," Noonan said.

"After this year, I feel like I've still got something to prove, or something to give back to the club I guess.

"We're trying to keep everyone together and have some cohesion in the group and hope that we can all stick together like most of the other Farrer League clubs."

To finish fifth, the Bushpigs need to beat the Northern Jets on Saturday and have Coleambally get beaten at Marrar. They'd then need to knock over the Blues themselves next week and hope they're in front on percentage.

"We're producing good football the last few weeks and if we can keep doing that, hopefully we get to play finals. I think we can be competitive if we get there," Noonan said.

CSU president Harry Unthank said retaining both senior coaches is an important step.

"It's great for the club to keep Pat around. He's been really good with what he's done over the last couple of years and it's great to have some stability. At a uni club where so many people come and go it's great to have the same man leading us for three years in a row," Unthank said.

"And Kirsty has done a great job, leading the team to the grand final last year. And this year they've been very good on the court so far, so we're very happy with Kirsty and happy to have her go around again next year."

Lowe will also be in charge for a third season, maintaining an association with a club she first joined back in 2004.

"The club's just very welcoming. People might have a perception that it's just uni students but being a bit older, they still welcome you with open arms, and encourage you," Lowe said.

A premiership player with CSU, Lowe is hopeful of retaining a strong core of players for next season.

First there's this year to finish off. The Bushsows' only two losses have been to the team that beat them in last year's grand final, The Rock-Yerong Creek, who won last week's showdown 46-40.

"We learnt that the one-percenters can really make or break a game, and our mental toughness has to be there at the same time as our physical toughness," Lowe said.

CSU are confident they're rivals are beatable, but Lowe warns it's no two-team race.

"You never know in finals, anything can happen. We've had some great competition with North Wagga this year, and finals is a whole different ball game," she said.
