I'm excited to be back in the Riverina; I grew up in Hay and worked as a journalist at the DA for about 18 months from March 2013.
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with the community and helping share the many stories this great city, and region, has to tell.
Among those stories is that of little Addison Curry, from Batlow, who underwent a liver transplant when she was just seven months old.
Addison was born with a rare condition called biliary atresia, which causes scarring and blocks bile ducts. When bile is unable to drain, it builds up and damages the liver.
Her transplant was only made possible by the selfless decision of another family.
Little Addison is now a healthy and happy toddler, thanks to a gift from someone she has never met.
Today marks the start of DonateLife Week and we're all being urged to consider registering to become organ donors.
More than 25,000 people in the Wagga area are already registered. Are you?
In other news, debate over Wagga City Council's climate emergency declaration, which was overturned on Monday night, continued this week.
Mayor Greg Conkey's leadership is now in the spotlight after a fellow councillor lodged a motion of no confidence against him.
The rationale behind the motion, which will be debated at the August 12 meeting and has already been dubbed "lunacy" within councillor ranks, can be found here.
The contentious climate emergency debate appears to have shone a light on factions emerging within the elected body.
Concerns have also been raised over councillors' use of the platform to promote their political party's stance.
It appears cracks are emerging. Watch this space.
All the best for the week ahead, Andrew.
