The Hoppers put up their hand for premiership favouritism with their first win over Griffith since 2015, 17.12 (114) to 10.15 (75) at Kindra Park.
Coolamon were on from the opening minute, bringing ferocious pressure and great intensity to the contest that had the Swans under the pump.
In an entertaining contest, Coolamon led by a goal at quarter time, 15 points at the main break and two goals at the final change before running away with the game in the final term.
Coolamon kicked six goals to one against a tiring Griffith to move into second position and sound a warning to the remainder of the competition.
Redfern was the star as he kicked 7.1 in a match-winning performance at centre-half-forward.
The win, Coolamon's fifth in succession, keeps them in the hunt for the minor premiership with four rounds remaining.
Coolamon co-coach Jamie Maddox believes it was an important win for the Hoppers on a number of fronts.
"It is an important win. In terms of the top three spot and top spot I suppose you would say," Maddox said.
"In terms of confidence moving forward too, its good for our boys to show we can beat those top sides."
Maddox believes it was one of Coolamon's best performances of the season.
"Yeah for sure. They're a good side and have been for the last couple of years," he said.
"We put in a four-quarter effort and I'm really happy with the effort our boys showed today to come away with the points. It was good.
"I thought our pressure around the footy was good. We pressured them and then when we got the ball we were able to spread quite well and were able to get on the open side of them."
Griffith struggled to go with all three of Coolamon's key forwards and it was Redfern who got off the chain. He marked virtually everything that came his way and was deadly in front of goal, kicking a couple of beauties from tight angles.
Luke Redfern and Jake Barrett were dynamic through the midfield and both went forward to kick two goals each, while Anthony Atkin was strong in the ruck.
Maddox was a late withdrawal with injury, pulling out after the warm up.
Griffith had winners in James Toscan, Jacob Conlan, Heath Northey, Mick Duncan and Will Griggs. Conlan kicked 5.3. in a dominant display in attack.
The Swans lost Jono Gastin to a yellow card in the second term, while Alex Overs injured his hamstring.
