The Riverina Paceway is thrilled to be hosting the Alabar Breeders Challenge regional finals so soon after opening the new facility.
Impressive horses from around the region to descend on Wagga on Sunday August 4 for the race meeting.
Alabar in Echuca is the major sponsor and has been for the past three years.
"We have a lot of clients and breed a lot of mares in NSW," Alabar general manager Brett Coffey said.
"It's a good way to support the people who support us."
The series itself is a big event for horses, breeders, owners, trainers and drivers.
"It's an important series and it is set up well," Mr Coffey said.
"You always hope your horse will get to the top level but it doesn't always work out so the series gives horses of all levels a chance to be competitive."
Alabar has been operating for more than 60 years with a property in Echuca and the north island of New Zealand.
They have 15 stallions standing at stud with service fees ranging from $2000 to $14,000.
"Alabar is a wonderful supporter and many of their stallions' progeny will be contesting the regional finals," Wagga Harness Racing Club chief executive Graeme White said.
In coming months the Riverina Paceway will host exciting races including the Riverina's first Group 1 meeting of any racing code in April with a three-day carnival and three heats and the semi-final of the Million Dollar Pace in May.
