Kooringal Public School hosted its annual 100 days of kindergarten achievement by kick-starting the day with a parade in front of parents and friends, followed by a range of activities.

Kindergarten student Cooper Pope, 5, said he has enjoyed participating in many activities during his first 100 days at school.

"We were just dressing up and having fun because it's 100 days and then we are going to have cake and that is so much fun," Cooper said.

Cooper said when he grows up he wants to be a builder and his peer Ashton Wishart, 5, said he wants to be an astronaut.

"On Tuesday I made a world on paper with a partner," he said.

Assistant principal Kate Marshall said the kinder classes started counting to 100 from the very first day.

"It forms the number part of our maths program, so everyday we put a sticker on our chart and work towards counting and teaching the concepts of building to 10 and then counting by 10s and ones until we get to 100 and then we celebrate," she said.

"Everyone dresses up as 100-year-old grandmas or grandpas and during the day we spend time doing literacy and numeracy activities all around the concept of 100.

"So we're counting by 10s and fives and using $5 and $10 notes to make $100 and all the classes are doing different activities depending on what their concept is and then we celebrate this afternoon watching 101 Dalmatians."
