With a double chance in the finals series on the line, Waratahs found plenty of inroads for a 58-24 at Conolly Rugby Complex on Saturday.
Coach Mark Macarthur was pleased to come away with an important win.
"I don't think the score really dictated the actual game, but it was just a bit more free flowing to allow that score," Macarthur said.
"Coming into this part of the season it allows us to start setting up for finals.
"I'm sure next time we meet the Reddies it won't be as free flowing and we will both tighten up in defence."
Macarthur believes better team cohesion helped score the big win but Waratahs were boosted by some strong performances from Taylor Lemmon, Sophie Kirkby and Holly Stephens.
Waratahs are percentage clear of Tumut, who scored a 51-5 win over Albury, ahead of their clash at Conolly Rugby Complex on Saturday.
Macarthur expects another big test.
Wagga City gave their finals chances a boost with a 39-27 win over Leeton and are now seven points behind Griffith after the Blacks went down to Ag College.
It took Ag College nine rounds to win a game but they've now beaten two teams in the top four after a 29-27 win on Saturday.
