After losing to Coolamon and Tigers, the Lions are at home to a desperate and dangerous Collingullie-Glenfield Park on Sunday. Midfielder Aaron Proctor admits it's a genuine test of their own finals credentials.
"Oh, definitely," Proctor said. "It's going to be a big game. We've just had two losses in a row, that's the first time this season, so the boys need to lift."
In his second season in the league, Proctor is loving life at the Lions. But, they're fourth on the ladder only one win (plus percentage) ahead of Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes and the Demons.
"I don't think we'll have a special plan for them. We just need to come up with the right attitude and go back to what we know," he said.
"When we're putting the pressure on other teams, we seem to win games, so it's just about bringing the intensity and the want."
The Demons put on a clinic at Collingullie last time the teams met, enjoying a 40-point win, and have named seven inclusions for Sunday's game, including coach Luke Gestier and brothers Ed and Nick Perryman, after their shock loss at Leeton last week.
Proctor said they're less worried about CGP personnel than fixing their own game.
In the midfield with brother Scott, and in the leadership group, he said playing alongside experienced Lions like ruckman Jacob Olsson has been good, but he's also excited by what their young players have had to offer.
"I've enjoyed playing with all the fellas, it's a great club, but especially the younger boys like Matty Hamblin. It's really good when he's playing with us, he's exciting, and Daniel Foley, Tom Anderson. They're all good," he said.
GGGM made it to the preliminary final last year, where they just fell short against Griffith.
The next seven days could have a big bearing on whether they'll finish in the five this year, with the Lions travelling to Mangoplah next Saturday.
