The Diesels' finals hopes were virtually ended with a 30-8 loss to Albury despite getting within four points early in the second half.
Coach Trent Schubach is looking for more consistency from the side.
"It came down to losing the crucial moments and it has been happening all year," Schubach said.
"We got ourselves back into the game but then we went soft for about 10 to 15 minutes and it is all over by then.
"We make it hard on ourselves every week with penalties and drop ball."
The Diesels are three wins outside the top five, with Young a further point behind with five games left in the season.
Injuries haven't helped their hopes this season and they've got plenty of worries ahead of the clash on Sunday.
Daniel Foley is in doubt with his hamstring problem while Richie Herangi will miss the clash after a head knock last week.
