The reigning premiers will virtually play for their season when they travel to Ganmain Sportsground to face Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.

The Demons sit in sixth place, only percentage outside the top five, but have lost their last two games and face a difficult run home.

Their most recent loss, a surprise four-point defeat at the hands of ninth-placed Leeton-Whitton, prompted a soul-searching meeting that Gestier hopes can be the platform to turn their season around.

"I can't say it was a crisis meeting but it was definitely a meeting of substantial length after the weekend's game. I haven't spoken to Leeton but they didn't see us at the pub," Gestier said.

"There were a few things discussed as a playing group as a whole, things we want to work on as a footy club. Our twos are going well but at the end of the day we all want to be on the same page."

Gestier said the Demons have identified what has gone wrong in recent weeks but now need to let their actions do the talking.

"First of all, you've got to address it, then put it back on the players but there's only so many times you can address it," he said.

"It's been addressed fairly sternly at times so it will be good to see if we have a reaction or if it's a, not our year, or b, that it might need to come from a different voice.

"Its definitely been a challenging year but in no way are we going to hide away from it. Obviously our personnel has been the greatest but we're not going to use that as an excuse. We're not the first club in football to go through that.

"The challenge is firmly on us. You could question whether the boys have the same hunger, we've questioned each other whether the hunger and desire is there, or whether it's a premiership hangover because at the moment from the outside looking in I could see why people might think it's a premiership hangover."

Collingullie-GP could welcome as many as seven players back for Sunday's game.

They hope to welcome back Gestier, Marc Geppert, Jason Ainsworth, Mick Anderson, Nick Perryman, Ed Perryman and Luke Murray.

Gestier said it is a game the Demons cannot afford to lose.

"It's massive really," he said.

"I said last weekend that we can probably only afford to lose two games on the run home...then we lose one of those lives with seven weeks to go so to only have one left is not ideal."

Gestier and the club are yet to decide on the coaching position beyond this season.
