Police, fire and rescue crews were alerted to the blaze on Menzies Avenue and detective acting inspector Brent Fletcher said forensics teams were working to determine how the fire started.
"At this stage, the owner of the residence has not been located or able to be contacted," he said.
"Until we can determine exactly what has taken place and locate the owner of the premises, we can't say as to whether it is being treated suspiciously or not."
The acting inspector said it was a good result for what could have been far worse.
"There is minimum fire and water damage, it could have been tragic but fortunately it was quickly brought under control and no one was home at the time of the blaze," he said.
