COOTAMUNDRA junior cyclist Lexie Phillips will now set her sights on next month's state championships after snaring silver at the NSW Junior Country Road Championships at Sutherland on Saturday.

The ten-year-old Wagga Cycling Club member finished second behind talented Manning Valley rider Amiah de Wright in the under-11 division, held over a 4.5km circuit around Waratah Park.
"She's an incredible little competitor," Wagga Cycling Club coach Cameron Oke said.
"She would have love to have won the gold, that's what she would have been going for, but I think the young girl that won is the next step above a lot of girls in NSW."
Lexie's mother Alysha said she has been racing for about a year and also competes on the track, her hero dual Olympic gold medalist Anna Meares.
She backed up on Sunday by winning another silver and bronze medal at the Southern Cross Cycling Club junior open.
