A dominant second quarter, and the only goal of the game into the wind, were enough to get Marrar home by nine points against the Northern Jets on Saturday.

In tough conditions at Langtry Oval, the Bombers effected a 34-point swing in the second quarter, going from 19 points down to 15 points up, before grinding out a 7.12 (54) to 6.9 (45) win.
"It was hard fought in the end but with the conditions the way they were, you bank the four points and move on," Marrar coach Shane Lenon said.
"It wasn't a brilliant game of footy or anything like that, it was just two sides having a crack at it and we were lucky enough to come out on the right side of the ledger."
Virtually all the play in the first half was up the northern end. But if the Jets thought they hadn't made the most of their chances in the first (kicking 2.7), Marrar could've held a bigger lead at the main break had they done better than 4.10.
They moved the ball well and opened the Jets up straight after the break, with four behinds and four goals in the first 12 minutes, and missed a few more towards half-time.
"Our second quarter was really good," Lenon said. "There was definitely a scoring end but I thought our second quarter we actually did play pretty good footy. It was clean and clinical but I thought the rest of our game was pretty scrappy."
The Jets came back and when Jack Fisher kicked their third of the third quarter, they were back on top.
However, former Jet Brad Moye delivered the rare sight of a goal at the southern end, on the back of good Marrar pressure up the ground, to put the Bombers in front by a point, only to see Josh Parmenter at the other end snap an opportunity out of a pack for his second goal.
It gave the Jets a five point break, cut to four when Jackson Moye kicked a point into the wind, and the Bombers headed to the last break within a kick and confident the conditions would help them home.
It wasn't as simple as that though. While Josh Hagar capped a big game floating forward for a goal early to put Marrar in front by three, the Jets then dominated for a good 10 minutes.
Despite their desperation limiting the Bombers' impact, they couldn't find a way to hit the scoreboard themselves, and after Jack Fisher was crunched attempting a courageous mark, the ball ended up in Zach Walgers (2.5) hands, who made the most of his final opportunity with a nice goal from out wide for a match-sealing nine-point break.
It's virtually the tale of two seasons. Marrar's fourth straight win - and ninth victory in their last 10 games - keeps them in second, while the Jets cling to fifth on percentage but are yet to win two games in a row.
Jackson Moye led the Bombers well with some key touches particularly in a tight second half, while Toby Lawler was also good in the middle.
In a side missing Drew Beavan, Mitch Taylor, Adam Whyte and Truman Carroll, their defence was more than solid, including Jeremy Graetz closing down Matt Wallis who went goalless for the first time this year.
Hagar did well to prevent the Jets' Jeromy Lucas getting free although the Melbourne-based teenager added more than a touch of class to his side, with some valuable centre clearances and popping up for marks at critical times at all ends of the ground.
Jack Fisher also threw himself into everything for the Jets. He and defender Brad McKinnon, who had another strong game, will both enjoy the bye next week after finishing off the ground with head knocks.
Marrar are at home against next week in a top-three clash with Temora.
