The Wagga side can move within one point of fifth place if they can down crosstown rivals Brothers at Equex Centre on Saturday.
Lachlan Jolliffe is out to help them up back up a surprise win over Gundagai to ignite the race for the last finals berth.
He's looking forward to the challenge.
"They've got a similar game to us, but if we can go hard and pressure them like we did to Gundi and play our game hopefully we can get the win," Jolliffe said.
"They started pretty similar to us, and have had their fair share of injuries as well, but now they're piecing it together at the same time as us.
"It should be a pretty good game."
The 20-year-old made his first grade debut last season, but has been a starting position his own this year after moving into the front row.
While he's always been a forward it's a step up and a change he's been enjoying.
"In my juniors I was always a back rower but when I started to get older I started to become a bigger body and made the shift into front row as soon as I jumped into senior footy," Joliffe said.
"It's a big different but I've always played that style in other positions.
"Hopefully I can keep building up, stay there and be as good as I can be."
Kangaroos haven't got the biggest pack, especially if you exclude Saul Houma from the equation, but Jolliffe believes they're making it work.
However having Houma, who scored a hat-trick last week, certainly helps.
"We're a smaller side but he puts a big body in the team and absolutely demolishes it," Jolliffe said.
"We've got the agility out back and he draws them all in."
He's also enjoying playing more minutes with older brother Hayden.
While Brothers have plenty of different personnel after their 25-12 win over Young, Kangaroos come into the clash unchanged after their 43-20 victory.
They went eight games without a win but are looking to make it three straight against their Wagga rivals.
The prop believes the side picked up plenty of confidence by finally breaking through after a couple of narrow losses.
"We hit a hard patch, ran rough and weren't playing the footy we know we can play," Jolliffe said.
"We didn't play to our level but just kept dropping down.
"We finally showed some of our form against Coota and followed that up against Gundi and proved we can play good footy. Coota gave us a bit of confidence and then we backed up it."
