The Wagga side has been forced to make plenty of changes heading into the big clash against Kangaroos at Equex Centre on Saturday.

Down on forward power, there has been a reshuffle in the pack most notably with halfback Cameron Breust moving to hooker.

Aaron Wynne has shifted to lock after Clifford Morris (broken hand), Brady Collins (knee) and Ben Schreiber all picked up injuries in the 25-12 win over Young last week.

Tyson McLachlan comes in a halfback to tackle his former club.

It is the first time Breust has ever started at hooker, but after Brothers adopted an evolving approach to the playmaking positions he's confident it will work for the club.

"I've played hooker in patches for the last couple of weeks," Breust said.

"We've had a rotation system going for the last three weeks and it has been working so well.

"I'm actually enjoying hooker a lot as you half control the pace of the game."

Liam Carey returns to the starting side after playing limited minutes last week in his return from a fractured cheekbone.

Breust expects he will provide plenty of impact.

"He's back fighting fit so it will be a big boost for us," he said.

"Our forwards have stood up tremendously in the past three weeks."

With their crosstown rivals coming off a surprise win against Gundagai, and desperate to close to gap to fifth place, it is a big game for both clubs.

After three straight wins Brothers are currently two points, and percentage, clear of the chasing pack, but Kangaroos can get within one point if they can make it three in a row themselves.

With so much on the line, Breust is preparing for a big challenge.

"It's exciting playing against the junior club," he said. "They smashed Gundagai last week so it will be really tough against them.

"They've got some really handy forwards so it will be a big task through the middle."

The two teams played out an 18-all draw earlier this season but both have improved significantly since then.
