Riverina Police District Inspector Adrian Telfer said two pubs were targeted in what police believe are related incidents.
"About 10.45pm last night, an incident happened at the Farmers Home Hotel in Wagga ... where a patron was robbed of some takings from a poker machine," he said.
"We believe two male offenders were involved ... this morning our detectives responded and are investigating at present.
"The patron was threatened, suffice to say after the threats he handed over his takings and was deprived of that money."
At 11.20pm on the same night, a man approached a staff member at the Turvey Tavern.
"He threatened the employee with what we believe was a fold out blade, and an amount of money was stolen from that property," Inspector Telfer said.
"The offender was chased from that pub towards Mount Austin."
Inspector Telfer added police were conducting inquiries and examining CCTV footage from both locations and were not disclosing the amount of money taken at this time.
Anyone who has information regarding this incident can contact Wagga Police Station on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
