Zeb Johnson had just finished a grocery shop and walked outside to see his dog in the front yard because the side gate had been left open.

That's how he knew something was not right and immediately checked security camera footage.

"I have an old red Toyota Supra, which is not a special car but it isn't common," he said.

"It normally is in my garage, but I hadn't put it away yet.

"You can see on the footage he is checking it out and he also tries my front and back doors."

Mr Johnson said he is grateful there was no physical damage, but it still felt like a violation.

"It was how brazen the act was," he said.

"It's 1.30pm in broad daylight, it's not 3am in the morning.

"The neighbours might just presume he was meant to be there."

Mr Johnson moved to Wagga in 2014 for work, deciding later to stay permanently.

This is the first incident he has encountered since setting up in the city.

"There's a camera pointing down the driveway, so I think he purposefully entered the house from the other direction where the power board is located," Mr Johnson said.

"I think everyone should have a camera of some sorts and they are easy to set up.

"It gives you that edge if something does happen."
