Star five-eighth Nathan Rose succumbed to another reoccurrence of the hamstring injury that has dogged his season.
Rose had missed the last four weeks with the problem but only lasted 30 minutes at Harris Park on Sunday.
The 24-year-old is frustrated by the setback
"I made half a break and when I went to change direction it twinged again," Rose said.
"It's the exact same thing that has been reoccurring over the last six weeks.
"It's the most frustrating season I've had yet with a lot of niggles and I can't seem to catch a break at the moment."
He also missed the first two rounds with a knee issue.
Rose wanted to use the game against the winless Bulldogs as a chance to get a game in before a big fortnight with clashes against top four rivals Tumut and Albury.
However the plan has come unstuck.
"I definitely won't be ready for Tumut and I don't think I will be right for Albury either," Rose said.
"I'll have to wait until I see the physio."
Rose has only played one full game for Southcity since picking up the problem in round five.
The five-eighth had been in good touch in the clash, crossing for an early double.
Harry Lucas also scored twice in the victory while Kyle McCarthy and Hayden Jeans put in strong performances.
It's the second big injury the Bulls have picked up in their past two games with Usaia O'Sullivan badly breaking his ankle last week.
Nick Skinner is also still sidelined but is a chance to tackle Tumut at Harris Park on Sunday.
Southcity moved around Gundagai into top spot on the ladder after Kangaroos shocked the premiers on Saturday.
However they will face a tough test against the Blues after needing some late brilliance from Rose to take a narrow win when the teams last met.
