The Jets came back from two goals down at half-time to edge in front by the last break before finishing powerfully for a 12.11 (83) to 8.7 (55) victory.
Under pressure from the three teams below them, the hard-fought win keeps the Jets in fifth, a win clear of CSU, who had the bye, and Coleambally, after their upset win against Temora.
They could ill-afford a loss to a team below, but Barellan put them under pressure as Sean Ellis (five goals) helped them get on top in the first half.
But with ruckman Matt Carroll delivering towering effort, they swung the game to their terms, kicking eight goals to two after half-time for their fifth win of the year.
Teenage defender Mitch Doyle produced another big game for the Jets, while Brad McKinnon's consistent season continued down back. Matt Wallis kicked three goals, coach Mitch Haddrill led well and also kicked two while Phillip Webb (two goals) also shone in his first game in the top grade.
Just as importantly, the Jets avoided injuries ahead of next week's big test at Marrar.
The Two Blues were best served by Mitchell Hawker and Kabe Stockton as well as Ellis but another honourable loss leaves them last, four wins beyond the top five now.
