The 19-year-old has been shifted into the centres to replace the injured Usaia O'Sullivan.
With O'Sullivan out for the season after badly breaking his ankle last week, it's a big opportunity for the promising Bulls junior.
Tracey is looking to make the most of it, despite being in a fairly unfamiliar position.
"We're definitely going to miss Sai and it's big shoes to fill but I think I'm ready to go," Tracey said.
"I'm pretty keen and it should be a good hit out."
While he played a little bit of centre when in the juniors, Tracey has spent most of his football days in the forward pack.
However he went into centres for the senior half of the clash against Junee last week after O'Sullivan's injury and isn't expecting too much to change from his normal game.
"I had a crack in there last week and I think I handled myself pretty well," Tracey said.
"I've always been a bit of a utility.
"I'll have to get my passing game a bit more involved and play more eyes-up footy instead of just going direct but I think my defence is pretty strong."
Nathan Rose also returns from injury to take on Cootamundra at Harris Park on Sunday.
He's missed the last four weeks after the re-occurrence of a hamstring injury but returns to five-eighth for the clash.
Tracey will play outside him, on the opposite side of the field to his older brother Steven.
He admitted it would have been good to play next to his brother, but believes having Rose's experience alongside will be a big boost to adapting to a new position.
"It would have been good to have him outside of me but I've got Nathan Rose and Jack Lyons with me and that's a bigger bonus," Tracey said.
"They've got plenty of experience and will lead me around the park."
Cootamundra are yet to taste success this season, and were beaten 86-6 when they met Southcity earlier this season.
Tracey is looking to use the clash as a way to get more familiar with the new
"This week will be a good hit out to see where I'm at, and to get a bit of chemistry with Nae (Rose), but there's some big clashes ahead.
"Next week (against Tumut) will be a strong challenge but I'm just taking it week-by-week."
Harry Lucas has been moved to fullback to cover Jake Dooley's absence with Lyons to start on the wing.
Nick Skinner is still out of the side with his pubic bone issue.
