The team at Poolwerx Wagga, have plenty of reason to celebrate after picking up not one, but two accolades at The SPASA NSW/ACT Awards of Excellence.

These awards are the swimming pool and spa industry's most prestigious awards, attracting entries from every region in Australia and showcasing achievements in construction, design, manufacturing, supply, products, retail and service.

Poolwerx Wagga owner, Graham Cheney, was awarded highly commended in the In-Field Service Technician category, while retail manager, Melissa McPherson came away with gold after snapping up the Retail Service Technician Award.

The awards are the only Australia-wide pool industry opportunity to showcase Poolwerx's best efforts to their peers, industry, government and their local community. Poolwerx Wagga has been awarded for their customer service and have been recognised as leaders in their field.

Through hard work and a commitment to customer service Mr Cheney and his team have grown the business over the last five years to include a customer base of more than 1200 pool and spa owners.

"When I first took over the business, there were only 50 regular customers on the books," Mr Cheney said.

"We've grown because of the team's commitment to our customers, from the retail side to the high standard of technical expertise we provide.

"Poolwerx is now a one-stop shop for all of our customers we do a variety of different jobs, including the refurbishment of old pools, leak detection, repairs and replacement of pool and spa equipment, warranty repairs and we also sell and repair spas and spa equipment."

It is all about the customer and their experience, something essential for Melissa McPherson, who is the NSW/ACT winner and is now in the running next month to become a national winner!

"I really enjoy the customer facing role because of the people I get to meet," she said. "It is important to me that our customers feel valued and that they understand the product or service they are purchasing."
