Tony Shaw of Wagga All Clean said he and his wife's business had been flat out for some time.
"My wife does the house cleaning whereas I do the carpets, and she can't take on any new clients because we are just so busy," he said.
"We particularly see younger families wanting the help because they don't want to spend all weekend cleaning after a week of work, but it's the same with things like gardening too."
Wagga Cleaning Service owner Andreana Cheney said while she hadn't been in the business for long, she was already booked out.
"I'm doing lots of family homes and a few elderly people, but you mainly see mothers and fathers who are always working, they have three plus kids to organise around sports commitments and extra curricular activities, so they just don't have the time," she said.
Figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicate a trend in unemployment that may be cause for cleaning services' booming business.
Wagga's unemployment rate from the 2001 census sat at 7.6 per cent, reducing to 6.3 per cent in 2006 and plateauing at 5.8 per cent by 2011 through to 2016.
This could suggest a drop in leisure time which many people would not want to spend cleaning, as well as a more stable income to spend on cleaning services.
Head of property management at Fitzpatricks, Lyn Kimball, said there is an increasing mindset around the security of professional cleaners in the property industry.
"If your tenant negotiates for a cleaner to go in rather than do so themselves once a lease has ended, you can always send the cleaner back if it isn't done right," she said.
"Most times too, people just want to get on with life when leaving a property, not have to go back to clean it, and they are realising now how easy it can be to get a cleaner, so there's much more value in the service when transitioning between from home to home."
