The competitions have been playing for over a decade, but Group Nine proved too strong with a 20-12 win at Laurie Daley Oval on Saturday.
Coach Bailey Porter thought Group Nine's speed on the edges proved to be the difference.
"In the end we really ran away with it out wide," Porter said.
"We played a real running-style game which suited us and obviously didn't suit Group 20 too well."
The visitors opened the scoring, and the two sides were locked at 6-all at half-time, before Group Nine fired in the first three tries in the second half to set up a winning advantage.
Group Nine were victorious for the first time in 2017 before Group 20 ensured the status quo was resumed last year.
Porter was thrilled to take the win over their big rivals.
"It was good to finally get one back," she said.
Emily Perrot and Madison Dunn led the charge while Young teenagers Sienna Smith and Alyssa Wonson also impressed as they stepped up to the open ranks.
However Dunn missed out on selection for the Riverina side to head to the Country Championships later this month.
Ten players from Group Nine have been selected while six from Group 20 earned their way through.
Leeton, Yanco-Wamoon and Southcity all have three representatives in the side.
Meanwhile Cootamundra scored a crucial 18-16 win over Kangaroos in the Group Nine competition.
Doubles to Claire Black and Jessica Beer saw the two teams head into the break locked at 10-all before tries to Julia Hay and Lauren Connell gave the Bullettes a big enough buffer.
Kangaroos remain in fifth but only on percentage with Cootamundra while Southcity are a further point behind.
The three other games weren't as close with Brothers scoring a 26-6 win over Albury in the grand final rematch, Young took a 34-6 win over Gundagai while Southcity accounted for winless Junee with a 40-14 victory.
Unbeaten Temora had the bye.
