Eight weeks after the injury, Cuell has been named on the bench to tackle Cootamundra at Equex Centre.
Cuell also injured his medial ligament and that is what has prevented him from taking the field.
He's looking forward to being back.
"I'm come out of it really well considering where most other people end up after doing it," Cuell said.
"At the moment I don't require the operation and as long as I don't have any issues going forward I will be fine.
"To this point everything has been really good in terms of the recovery."
He's hoping to be able to continue to play out the right of the year.
"When you hear them say ACL you immediately think surgery and the long recovery period that comes with it but as the swelling went down and we started to get back into range of movements and strength stuff we worked out we would be able to go down a conservative rehab path," Cuell said.
"Once you get a light at the end of the tunnel it is quite easy to work towards."
Now his focus is trying to help Kangaroos to a much needed victory.
They haven't won since the corresponding fixture in round two but have been close in their last couple of outings.
The latest effort was an one-point loss to Young and Cuell is looking for the side to turn promising performances into points.
"The last two games we've been the better side for the majority of the contest and still been beaten so it's important we get a win and some reward for effort," he said.
"At stages in the second half of both games we've had the opportunity to get on top and push out to a lead but just haven't been good enough.
"We've had a couple of moments with a lot of good ball but haven't been able to convert and then they go down the other end and score.
"It's essentially a 12-point turnaround.
"It's demoralising and it's not good enough either if you want to win games."
Kody Collins is also in line to make his first grade debut after linking with the club through coach Glenn Dumbrell.
It is a later start for the clash with kick off at 4.10pm.
