Bryce Connellan came home to Turvey Park from watching Origin on Sunday night to discover a pot plant and doormat was missing from his front porch.
"I had assumed the missus had moved it," he said.
"We jumped onto the camera footage to have a look, and what we have come across was pretty shocking.
"It was 9.30pm at night, the lights were one, and she's walked in without a care in the world and hasn't even tried to hide her face."
Mr Connellan said at the end of the day the items were replaceable, but it was frustrating to see this behaviour.
"Crime in Turvey Park seems to be on the rise, but also in other areas like Estella," he said.
"It's impacting honest, hardworking people."
Mr Connellan said he bought the place a few years ago and as soon as renovations began, installed CCTV systems.
"I check it occasionally or if I hear a noise," he said.
"We never had any dramas until now."
Mr Connellan said he and his family still feel safe inside their home, but the security provided by the cameras and alarm system helps.
"It also means we had something to hand to the police for their investigations," he said.
"Having these security measures is definitely worth it.
"You can get small packages that do not cost a fortune."
Mr Connellan said you can't put a price on the peace of mind.
