An under-13 boys competition for primary school will be held for the first time today, before open competition gets underway on Thursday.
Around 340 students from Wagga, Deniliquin, Griffith, Tumut, Batlow and Young will take part in the competition.
"We've gone from one to two days this year, and it's the first time we've had primary school kids involved," Wagga Futsal president Sam Gray said.
"We were hoping to run under-tens, but we'll see how that goes next year."
Materi Dei Primary School will field a mixed team today, against boys teams from Lake Albert Public School (two teams) and South Wagga Public School (three teams).
Competition winners will earn the right to represent Wagga in the Football NSW State Schools Championships in Sydney late next month.
