The Tigers went into the clash against Albury without captain Luke Berkrey and centre Seb Cottam after a bruising top-of-the-table clash with Tumut and then lost Damian Willis after a training mishap on Friday night.
Lyons failed to complete the 24-18 loss against the Thunder, coming off with a shoulder problem midway through the second half.
He's already ruled a line of taking on Young at Anzac Park on Sunday.
However he is unsure just how bad the issue is.
"I've hurt the AC joint in my shoulder," Lyons said.
"I'll miss this week and probably see how it pulls up the week after but we're not too sure at this point."
Lyons is no stranger to the problem after picking up a similar issue in his right shoulder.
Tigers coach Adam Perry thought his side were simply outplayed in suffer their first loss since the final round of last season.
That too was at the hands of the Thunder who had a draw with the Tigers to start the season.
"It wasn't anything in particular that was glaringly bad but we just weren't great in any area," Perry said.
"We dropped a lot of ball, we fell off a lot of tackles, we weren't good in support so any opportunities we created we couldn't capitalise and we couldn't create many opportunities as we weren't going in numbers.
"Things we would normally shut down they were pushing through them as we weren't defending that well and we were giving them more opportunities as we dropped the ball so much and gave away more penalties than we usually do."
Perry is looking for the team to respond back at home against a Young outfit who have won two games in a row and will be desperate to stay in the finals race.
Willis is likely to return.
"It's two points at the end of the day but as long as we make sure we think about why we lost and work on those areas then it is not an issue," he said.
"We will be right for sure."
Young went down by eight points when the teams met earlier this season.
