The Wagga side continued their winning ways by taking a 39-10 victory against Albury at Murrayfield.
The Steamers have been one of the form teams in the competition, but struggled to match it with the premiers.
Co-coach Michael Davis was happy with how the side continues to build.
"We were pleased with the result," Davis said.
"We knew it was going to be tough down there after the week before they nearly got the win against Aggies.
"We knew they'd come a long way since that second round and were expecting a tough game."
However there was plenty of carnage in the forwards.
Joe Mullany (ankle) looks to be the worse of the quartet but Jock Munro and Sam Bunny both picked up hamstring complaints while James Whiteley has a groin complaint.
It doesn't bode well for the big clash with ladder leaders Ag College but Davis was impressed with how the likes of Bede Funnell and Tony Ritchie stepped up coming off the bench.
Bunny made to score a double before not coming back on in the second half while Blake Hart also crossed twice.
Aggies are one-point ahead and the two sides will be playing for the inaugural COL Cup in honour of the late Andy Stanham.
Davis expects Ag College will be playing with plenty of emotion in what will be a big day.
"I think we will just try to worry about ourselves again," he said.
"It's our main focus and what will be will be.
"Hopefully we will be able to replace those guys if they are unavailable."
