The top-of-the-table Knights got revenge for a 4-1 loss to the Wanderers in the opening week with a 4-0 shut-out, with Nicholas Tither scoring a brace.

O'Connor led 1-0 at half-time but scored immediately after the resumption through Aldrich Cummins off a long ball over the Wanderers' back three.

Tither's second just four minutes later sealed all three points, which continues the Wanderers' run of outs on the road.

While they have racked up nine points from four home games, they have yielded just three in five road trips.

They have now dropped to fifth on the table, and their tough start to the second round continues with matches against top four outfits Canberra White Eagles (home) and ANU (away) next on the agenda.

"They're a sharp and well drilled side, they're top of the ladder for a reason," Wanderers assistant coach Andrew Douglas said.

"To the boys' credit they kept pushing all game, we started creating really good opportunities in the second half.

"If we pinned one or two (goals) the tempo of the game would have changed a bit, we just needed that breakthrough in front of goal for confidence."
