The Cherrypickers five-eighth nailed the one-pointer with less than two minutes left for a nail-biting 23-22 victory on Saturday.
Young coach Roy Jewitt was relieved to secure their second straight win.
"It was the ugliest field goal but it went over so it doesn't matter," Jewitt said.
There was a lengthy delay as Casey Lynch was being treated after a head knock leading into the play, before the kick from about 15 metres out directly in front of the posts.
It was just Young's third win but keeps them in contact with the top five.
Jewitt thought it was very important.
"It was an ugly game, and it was an ugly win but I will take the two points," he said.
"The boys did fairly well, the effort was good. Keeping them out for those three or four sets down there under constant pressure was really good.
"It's good to get two on the trot we just have to keep building. If we can keep improving we'll keep getting results."
Boro Navori, Jake Veney and Langford scored first half tries to give Young a 16-10 lead at the break.
However Kangaroos capitalised on some ill discipline at the beginning of the second period,to level things through Timoci Vatubuli.
Roos then piled on pressure earning three repeat sets, however Young's goal line defence held strong.
The Pickers edged ahead through a Kelepi Komaisavou try, but it was quickly cancelled out when Vatubuli broke Young's line to put Hayden Jolliffe over with 18 minutes remaining.
Young then repelled a number of sets before Langford's winner.
