The two sides only had one win between them coming into the clash, but the tight win was enough to move the Wagga side off the bottom of the ladder.
Coach Alex Nowlan was thrilled the team's hard work has been paying off.
"It was really great as they've been working hard for it," Nowlan said.
"We've been really struggling for numbers but have finally got a full team together.
"We've been playing with eight or nines players in a 10s match, but now we've got a bench we've been able to roll on some subs and keep fresh people on."
With a very inexperienced side, Aggies have been completing two training sessions that last over two hours each week.
Transforming the rugby rookies into a team has taken time but Nowlan has seen plenty of progress.
Particularly in the line out.
"At the start of the season it was just working of basic skills, catching and passing, as most of them haven't played before but in just a few weeks they can now throw a ball, hit the target on the chest and they are running through plays," he said.
Meanwhile CSU returned to winning ways with a 58-10 win over Leeton.
Reddies suffered their first loss of the season before the bye at the hands of Griffith, but normal service resumed against the struggling Dianas.
Tumut also took an important win over Griffith.
The Bullettes, who have a game in hand against Leeton, are in second after the 43-7 victory at Jarrah Sportsground while the Blacks sit just outside the top four.
They are three points adrift of Wagga City who went down 45-34 to the third-placed Waratahs.
Wagga City and Tumut face each other on Saturday.
