Fiona Ziff, treasurer of the North Wagga Resident Association, said they will be pursuing an injunction and compensation because they believe the council is not acting in line with government requirements.

She said they want "protection, remediation and compensation".

Ms Ziff is particularly concerned with the actions of the Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee.

"We have appointed Stewart Levitt of Levitt Robinson Lawyers," she said.

"Many people are coming forward, including ex-councillors, councillors, ex-committee members, who all have similar stories.

"Council made it obvious they did not want to spend any money on increasing protection for North Wagga and council are manipulating the process."

Ms Ziff told The Daily Advertiser that all three former resident members resigned citing the same reason - they were overwhelmed by the way council was obviously steering the meeting towards spending no money in North Wagga.

Jenny Edwards was one of those representatives and said she left because she felt it was "tokenism and a farce".

"I left because I was appalled with their behaviour," she said.

"I felt like the engineers from WMA Water were antagonistic ... I want to see a 1 per cent levee because it is sound and moral and fair.

"WMA Water has proved that, the council has admitted that, it should be done. The whole process nearly killed me."
