The Bulls were held scoreless by the Tigers heading into the bye, but handed out a 46-6 thrashing of their own at Harris Park on Sunday.
Brothers opened the scoring after eight minutes but it was a brief glimpse of joy for the Wagga club who let in 46 unanswered points.
A first half hat-trick to Jake Dooley gave Southcity all the momentum heading into the second stanza and it was impossible for Brothers to turn it around.
Southcity captain-coach Kyle McCarthy was pleased with how his team were able to turn it around.
"We went back to basics," McCarthy said.
"Because we were winning for the last six weeks I think we were trying to add things and went away from what makes us good - up tempo, lots of pressure football.
"When we got back to that it showed."
Connor McCauley opened the scoring off a ricocheted kick but the Bulls were kick to reply.
Hayden Jeans barged over eight minutes later before Dooley was in the right place backing up to score the next three tries to go out to a 22-6 lead at the break.
For the second time in the game Brothers have three repeat sets on Southcity's line but just couldn't find a way through.
Brothers hadn't lost in three games coming into the clash after a slow start to the season, but were completely outclassed.
Coach Peter Little admitted it's time to head back to the drawing board for the premiers.
"They are a quality side who play for 80 minutes and we are just giving up," Little said.
"They get ahead of us and we just throw in the towel.
"As usual it is our mistakes that are really costing us.
"We had plenty of ball in their half but they defended really well and we never completed and finished our sets.
"It's very frustrating when our forwards have a real dig, hold the middle for us and we just turn silly ball over and our forwards are defending again."
It took 16 minutes for Southcity to hit the scoreboard in the second half after a Josh Siegwalt grubber kick cannoned off the upright and straight into Luke McBeath's arms but they soon made up for lost time.
Usaia O'Sullivan crossed with 18 minutes to play before a double to Steven Tracey in the last 12 minutes plus a nice try to Nick Skinner finish the riot.
Southcity now tackle Temora, one of two teams to get the better of them so far this season.
The Dragons were a real surprise packet in round one but currently sit in fifth place.
McCarthy is looking forward to a string of games at home while Brothers face another tough test against third-placed Tumut.
There was little between the teams to start the season and Little is hoping individuals can lift to help the team keep in touch with the top five.
They are four points adrift.
