The Cherrypickers brought up just their second win of the season with a 32-4 victory over the winless Bulldogs at Les Boyd Oval.
Jewitt was pleased with effort.
"It was a good performance," Jewitt said.
"Our attitude and defence were outstanding.
"Our goal line defence has been ordinary for a lot of the season but it was fantastic.
"We knew we had to aim up in defence, particularly in our own 20 and we did."
Sam Langford and Boro Navori both crossed for doubles while Jake Veney also impressed after moving into the centres.
He opened the scoring after 20 minutes.
Jewitt is now looking to back up the performance against Kangaroos to ensure they remain in the finals race.
"When you are down where we are every win is important," he said.
"I keep saying it is about the performance.
"If we get the performance right we will get the result and we were very close to getting the performance right."
Meanwhile Cootamundra will be looking for a better performance against Junee.
